Yahoo and Bing search engines have been hit hard with a phishing scam. Persons using these search engines to search for the keyword "Mt Gox", searching for the popular Bitcoin exchange website, ended up with top search results with links to the fake Mt.Gox website: "MtPox.com".

Yahoo and Bing search engines have been hit hard with a phishing scam. Persons using these search engines to search for the keyword "Mt Gox", searching for the popular Bitcoin exchange website, ended up with top search results with links to the fake Mt.Gox website: "MtPox.com".

The phishing website "Mtpox.com", is an exact replica of the legitimate Bitcoin exchange website http://www.MTgox.com, and was designed to steal the user names and passwords for the users of this legitimate website.

If you enter your user name and password on the phishing website: "MtPox.com", it will be sent to the scammers and hackers operating this phishing scam. You will then be redirected to the legitimate website www.MTgox.com, in an attempt not to arouse any suspicions.

If you want to ensure that you are on the legitimate website: www.MTgox.com, your web browser address bar should look like the image below:

If you are a MTgox.com user, please change your password immediately. It is hard to tell who were affected by this phishing scam, when two popular search engines were hijacked in this way.
