The website www.installssource.com has a software called HDvidCodec, created by CoolMirage Ltd that contains Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs). Potentially Unwanted Programs are applications that contain adwares, toolbars or web browser hijackers. These programs tend to be difficult to remove after they have been installed on your computer.
Please continue reading below.
This is how the HDvidCodec Software website looks
The HDvid Codec contains a toolbar called HDVidCodec Delta bar and a program called WebCake that will display online advertisements on your computer while you browse the internet.
Personally, I do not see the reason for downloading this HD VidCodec and do not recommend downloading and installing it.
HDVidCodec installation file is called codec_pack_209684_ch.exe. During the installation process you will be asked to accept the terms and conditions of the VidCodec and Webcake. If you do, you are legally giving permission to allow these programs to display online advertisements on your computer.
If you have already installed this software, please use the programs below to remove the unwanted programs installed by this software:
After downloading these programs, ensure that you close all web browsers. Run the "Avast Browser Cleanup" program first, and then the "AdwCleaner" program.
You will be asked to reboot your computer, please do so, in order to completely remove the unwanted programs from your computer.
