Barclays Bank Phishing Scam - 'Your Account Might be Compromised'

The email message below: "Your account might be compromised," is a phishing scam, and was not sent by the Barclays Bank. The spoofed email message contains a fake Barclays Bank form with the name Attachment-17-11-2014.zip, designed to trick the recipients into entering their passcode, first name, last name, date of birth, account number, sort code, debit card number and five digit telephone banking Passcode. Once the information is entered on the form and submitted, it will then be sent to the cyber-criminals who are behind the phishing scam.

The email message below: "Your account might be compromised," is a phishing scam, and was not sent by the Barclays Bank. The Fake and Phishing Barclays Bank Email Message

From: Barclays Bank Plc <natalie.beecham@barclays.com
Subject: Your account might be compromised
Attachment: Attachment-17-11-2014.zip

Dear Customer,

We recently have determined that different computers have logged in your Barclays account, and multiple password failures were present before the logons. For your security we have temporary suspended your account.

Please download the document attached to this email and fill carefully.

If you do not restore your account by November 17, we will be forced to suspend your account indefinitely, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes.

Do not ignore this message is for your security.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please do not reply to this e-mail as this is only a notification. Mail sent to this address cannot be answered.

Remember, although the email message appeared as if it came from a Barclays Bank email address, it was not. This email address was spoofed, meaning it was not sent from a Barclays Bank email address, but from some other email account.

If you have already entered the requested information on the fake form and submitted it, please try changing your Barclays Bank password, and contact them immediately.
