Three employees at a Doritos factory in California tested positive for the Ebola virus on Sunday. It is believed the virus spread through cross-contamination during shipping between a common preservative used in Doritos, disodium nitrate, and goods from West Africa.

The popular use of this preservative in many foods has lead to a widespread panic throughout the retail industry as it is now feared the virus may be present in thousands of foods in supermarkets nationwide.
