If you have received the SMS or text message: "We have an important message regarding your First American Bank account", asking you to call a particular phone number, please do not. Even persons who do not have a First American Bank accounts are getting these fake and phishing SMS or text messages.

If you call the phone number in the text message, the scammer will attempt to trick you into giving out your account, personal and credit card information, by claiming that your credit or debit card has been deactivated and they can reactivate it for you. Also, they may ask you about other account activities.
If you are sent a SMS or text message, please call the company name that is listed in the text message, instead of calling the phone number.
If you receive the text message above and you have an account with First American Bank, instead of calling the phone number in the text message, you should call First American Bank to verify if the text message is legitimate or not.
