Will There Be a WhatsApp Messenger "Chatting With" Feature?
Nov 11, 2015
There is a rumor spreading on social media and the rest of the internet, which claims that WhatsApp Messenger, a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows users to exchange messages, will launch a new feature called "Chatting With." The new feature should allow WhatsApp users to see who their contacts or friends are chatting with. WhatsApp has not confirmed the so-called new feature and have not made any announcement of any such new feature. The image below, which started the rumor, shows how the allegedly new feature looks and works, seems to have been edited with a photo editing software.

The Alleged WhatsApp "Chatting With" Feature
About a year ago, WhatsApp introduced a feature called “Read Receipts,” which allows users to see when their messages are read by the recipients, by placing two blue tick or check marks next to the messages. WhatsApp came under fire for the new feature and was forced to make the new feature optional, because users didn’t like the idea of their friends or contacts knowing that they have read their messages. So, WhatsApp gave users the ability to turn the feature off or on.
Now, a year has passed and WhatsApp users may think the rumors of the new “Chatting With” is true, because WhatsApp seems to introduce a new feature every year. But, as I have said before, there is no confirmed report from WhatsApp about the “Chatting With” feature.
Also, there is no information about the so-called new feature posted on WhatsApp's website, Facebook page, Twitter page or even their blog. If WhatsApp was about to introduce a new feature or upgrade, the information would have been posted and discussed on their blog located at: http://blog.whatsapp.com/.
