Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social networking websites or apps are been flooded with the message below, which claims that there is a virus called the "Dance of the Hillary." The message claims that you should not accept a video called the "Dance of the Hillary" because it is a very dangerous virus that will format your mobile device or wipe clean all the data on it. But, after doing some research, we found that the virus DOES NOT exist and it is only a hoax; seem to have been created by pranksters who have nothing to do but to scare people.

The "Dance of the Hillary" Message Hoax

"Please inform all contacts from your list not to open a video called the “Dance of the Hillary”. It is a virus that formats your mobile. Beware it is very dangerous. They announced it today on BBC radio. Fwd this msg to as many as you can!"

The "Dance of the Hillary" hoax is similar to the "Dance of the Pope" that was created by pranksters over a year ago, to frighten online users into sharing.

No news agency and antivirus software company have heard about the "Dance of the Hillary" virus. And, there is no annoucement on the BBC about such a virus. This is why it is important that online users research social networking messages before sharing them with their friends and family. And, should always check with the popular or reputable news websites to verify the authenticity of messages before sharing, especially ones that talk about serious threats.
