The hoax below, which claims that Richard "The Old Man" Harrison from reality television show "Pawn Stars" on the History Channel has died, is another reason why you should always use popular and reputable news websites as your source of information. Richard "The Old Man" Harrison is NOT dead, and is alive and well. The fake story of Richard Harrison's death originated from a Facebook page called "RIP 'Old Man' Harrison" created by scammers. The fake Facebook page is another like-farming scam used to gather up the scammers' potential victims, by getting them to like, share or comment on the fake Facebook page.

Once the scammers have gather up their potential victims, they will start sending them fake friend requests. Once the potential victims have accepted the fake requests, the scammers will start sending them malicious posts with links that download malware that infect their computers with viruses / spyware / ransomware, or links that will take them to fake or phishing websites that will steal their online account credentials and personal information.
Therefore, Facebook users who have received posts to the fake Facebook page, should report it to Facebook and never follow the instructions in it.
