Fake-News - "NCB Online Banking System Has Been Hacked"

There are messages circulating on WhatsApp and the rest of social media, like the ones below, claiming the National Commercial Bank (NCB) Jamaica online banking system has been hacked, and are warning NCB customers not to do any online banking because their account information, including their passwords, will be compromised, is a hoax or is not true. NCB has confirmed that their banking system has not been hacked and is fully operational. Please see the public notice that they have published below.

This is another reason why online users are advised not to take messages posted on social media seriously, share, "like," or comment on them, until they are able to determine if they are legitimate by, using reputable news media sources , contacting their service providers, or simply asking trusted friends or family members.

Guys, NCB Online banking system has been hacked so don't do any online banking - your information and password will be compromised They aren't telling the public but have been calling individual customers that have been affected.

NCB has published the following public notice regarding the fake messages:
NOTICE: NCB's online banking platform is fully functional and has not been compromised. All messages circulating on WhatsApp and Social Media indicating a compromise are FALSE. Please contact customer care for more information at 1-888-NCB-FIRST.
