Retired actor Gene Hackman is not dead. A death-hoax Facebook page and a misleading tweet or post from Dylan McDermott help spread the hoax, which claims that the 84-year-old Oscar-winner is dead. The hoax reached over a million people on social networking websites. The actor is alive and the death-hoax Facebook page has been removed. Also, Dylan McDermott removed his tweet or post after he realised that the news of Gene Hackman's death was a hoax.
