Beware of Tiffany & Co. Giveaway Facebook Scams

The Facebook posts below: "To celebrate the launch of our London store we're giving away a £5000 spending spree to 3 lucky winners" and "we are giving away this stunning diamond ring worth £20,000 to celebrate the opening of our new London store," are fraudulent, and are Facebook like-farming scams. The scams will attempt to trick Facebook users, by claiming that they can have a chance of receiving £5000 to go on a spending spree, and a diamond ring worth £20,000. But, the fake Facebook posts and page have nothing to do with Tiffany & Co., and is only a scam to get Facebook users to comment on, "like" or share the same deceptive posts with their friends. The victims of the scam may also be asked to complete surveys.

Please continue reading below.

If you have received the same fake posts on your Facebook Wall or Timeline, please report it to Facebook as spam.

Now, by liking, commenting on, and sharing the scam, you are only helping to spread it to other Facebook users and making the scammers responsible for this, earn money. Scammers earn money when they make a page popular and are able to sell it to the highest bidder, along with the names and other public information of the persons who liked or shared the scam.

I guess, the last thing we want to do is to make these scammers rich by tricking you and others into commenting on, liking and sharing a fake Facebook post or website. So, if you have already liked, commented on, or shared this scam, please unlike, remove your comment and 'unshare' it.

Also, they may ask you to complete surveys in order to receive your coupon. But, it doesn't matter how much surveys you complete, you will never receive any coupons. The scammers, on the other hand, will get paid for each competed survey.
