A Lot Of Scamming, Phishing and Malicious Websites Are Using .RU Domain Names

Please take extra precautions when visiting a ".ru" domain / website or avoid visiting. "ru" is the Internet country code top-level domain for the Russian Federation. A lot of the scamming, phishing and malicious e-mails, that I have come across, contain a .ru domain. That is a domain name ending with ".ru". Example: mywebsite.ru. A lot of .ru domains are registered by criminals under fake identities to send spam, setup phishing, scamming and to carry out other malicious activities.

It is reported that there is a flaw in the domain name system registration in eastern Europe, which allows criminals who are registering these domain names to, conceal their identity and make it impossible for law enforcement to track them down.

If you receive an e-mail,  a Facebook post, text message or other media forms, with a ".ru" domain, please do not visit the website unless, you are familiar it.
