If you are asked the following: ‘Restricted Video: To start the video, please share it below,’ please do not follow the instructions. This is a video survey scam, created by cyber-criminals to trick Facebook users into completing surveys, "liking" or sharing a fake Facebook website. The fake Facebook website promises Facebook users a video depicted by the image in it, but there is no video.

The "Restricted Video: To start the video, please share it below" Dialog Box

Restricted Video, to start the video, please share it below

Restricted Video, to start the video, please share it below

Clicking this fake shared "Restricted Video" or "Security Check" dialog box will only ask you to like, share the same page or complete surveys in order to verify your age.

But, this not a age verification process or security check, it is only a scam designed to trick you into spreading this scam to your Facebook friends, by sharing a fake Facebook web page. Now, sharing the fake web page will make it popular. Once the page is popular, these scammers can sell it to online marketers or other scammers. They will also make money from the surveys that are completed by gullible Facebook users who were tricked into completing them, and from the advertisements on the website.

Now, if you have shared and "liked" this fake Facebook post, please remove all shared Facebook posts and "unlike" it.

If you are asked to share, "like”, complete surveys in order to view a video, picture or other content, it is the first sign that you are being tricked or scammed. You do not need to do any of these things in order to view any content on Facebook and the rest of the internet.

Here are some video scams that use this trick:

They are trying, but it is hard. Cyber-criminals can easily set up shop in a direct location or country within minutes, as soon as you have taken down one. And, some countries don't have any form of cyber-law, therefore, it is hard to prosecute these cyber-criminals when some are caught.
