Phishing Scam - Notification - IT Support Center - Migration to Outlook Web access 2016

The email message below: "Notification: IT Support Center," which claims that the recipients’ email accounts are currently being migrated to Outlook Web Access 2016, is a phishing scam. The fake email message was sent by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients into visiting a phishing website, where their personal information, email account user name and password will be stolen if they enter the same information on the fake website. Once the cyber-criminals have received their victims' information, they will use it to hijack their email accounts and use the accounts fraudulently.

IT systems is currently migrating all email accounts to Outlook Web access 2016.in order to keep your account and information, you must activate your account 48 hours of receiving this email or your account will be disabled: Click on the link below and fill required information to keep your account running.

All email will be re-activated. Your account will not function if you do not upgrade.

The links in the email message go to the following fake and phishing website:

  • “alerthomepage.webeden.co.uk”

Recipients of the email message, who were tricked into visiting and submitting their information on the fake website, should change their email account passwords immediately. For victims who are unable to change their passwords, they will have to contact their email account providers.
