Got a NSOAE Email - Want to Know if it is Legit

Would you share this Question and Answer with others?

Has anyone received an email from the National Society of Academic Excellence (NSOAE)? I just got an email from them that I qualify but I do not know if it is a scam or not. They told me to pay 40 bucks to become a member.

Any "honor society" that asks you to pay to be a member is a scam.

I got the same email... I wouldn't ever pay to get into an organization that has anything to do with academic advancement when you could probably find the same programs, or better, for free at your institution.

Got it today too. Website looks pretty bland, no videos? No that much content. For example, compare it to a real society like Society of Women Engineers. If it isn't fake, it would be a waste of money.
