Postcard from Hallmark Virus Hoax

I keep receiving e-mail messages from my family and friends asking me about the "Postcard from Hallmark" virus that will destroy their hard drives. They were sent an e-mail message claiming that if they receive an e-mail entitle "Postcard from Hallmark," they should shut down their computers because the e-mail contains a virus which will "burn" their hard disc drives. Also, it claims the virus was discovered by anti-virus software makers Microsoft, McAfee and Norton.

The jokers behind this e-mail hoax have frighten a lot of persons and have caused thousands of persons to send this same e-mail message to everyone they know, informing them of the so-called threat. I do not know the reason why the persons behind the e-mail sent it and what they hope to achieve. Maybe they want to create panic and I have everyone shutting down their computers when they receive an e-mail with "Postcard from Hallmark" in the subject.
