Is the Facebook post "Please be careful: some hackers have found something new." a hoax? See the full post below. What this post speaks of is called "Profile Cloning", which is possible and is not new but, has been used by scammers over the past few years to trick Facebook users into accepting bogus friend requests.

Please be careful: some hackers have found something new. They take your profile picture and your name and create a new FB account. Then they ask your friends to add them. Your friends think it is you, so they accept. From that moment on they can say and post whatever they want under your name.

Please don't accept a second friendship demand from me, I have only one account.

ALERT: If you get a friend request from someone you are already friends with including me DO NOT FRIEND THEM!! Two of my friends this morning, have been Hacked!!

Profile Cloning is using someone’s publicly shared information (profile picture, photos, name) to duplicate or clone that person's profile or account, in an attempt to trick that person’s friends into accepting a bogus friend request.
