Malicious Hoax - "Oprah Winfrey Is Dead - Committed Suicide"
Oprah Winfrey is alive and is doing well. But, there is a malicious hoax that is spreading on social networking websites, claiming that the celebrity is dead. This malicious hoax claims that Oprah Winfrey was found dead in her living room after committing suicide and you can watch a video footage of her shooting herself.
The Oprah Winfrey Death Hoaxes
Breaking News: American media proprietor OPRAH WINFREY was found dead on her residence right after committing suicide on her living room. As authorities investigates on the issue, OPRAH WINFREY recorded a suicide video message before putting a bullet on her head. The message was unclear. Exclusive footage was banned on TV due to graphic violence. Watch the footage exclusively on CNN news.

Like the Celine Dion and Will Smith hoaxes created by scammers, this hoax is the same. Scammers create these hoaxes to lure persons to malicious websites, trick them into liking a Facebook post, trick them into granting them access to their Facebook accounts and trick them into completing surveys that they, the scammers, will be paid for.
The "Oprah Winfrey committed suicide" Facebook Post
The "Oprah Winfrey committed suicide" Facebook post is a trick to lure persons to a malicious Facebook application by claiming that they can watch the full exclusive video recording , leaked to Fox Exclusive News, of Oprah Winfrey shooting herself. This application will ask you to give it access to your Facebook account, which it will use to send the same hoax to all of your Facebook friends.
If you install the malicious Facebook application (DO NOT) by giving it permission to your Facebook account, you will be asked to download a "Facebook Media Plug-in", which the hoax claims you will need in order to view the full exclusive plane crash accident video.
But, there is no video and as I have said before, Oprah Winfrey is alive. If you install the so-called "Facebook Media Plug-in" by clicking on the link, you will install a malicious computer program that will infect your computer with a virus or Trojan horse.
