Facebook Hack Caused by Java Security Bypass Zero-day Exploit
Popular social networking website Facebook, which has over a billion users, had its network breached in a sophisticated malware attack. Facebook said the attack occurred when some of its employees visited a compromised mobile website that contained the "Java Security Bypass Zero-day" exploit which allowed malware to be installed on their laptop computers.
Facebook said they have found no evidence that their user-data was compromised and is working with their internal engineering teams, other security companies and law enforcement authorities, to learn everything about the attack, so it can prevent similar attacks in the future.
Facebook is not the only company that has been hacked recently; other popular American websites have also reported breaches of their websites and networks and are claiming that the attacks came from China.
