Phishing Email Scam - "Paypal Confirm Your New Email Address"

The "Paypal Confirm Your New Email Address" e-mail message below which appears as if it came from PayPal, asking recipients to confirm their new email address, is a phishing e-mail scam. The e-mail message was not sent by Paypal (paypal.com) and the link in it does not go to Paypal's website at www.paypal.com. Instead, the link goes to a malicious website set up by cyber-criminals to steal their victims' Paypal usernames and passwords.

The Phishing PayPal E-mail Message

Confirm your new email address

Hello,

You added a new email address to your PayPal account, but you're not done yet. Take a minute to confirm this address so we know it belongs to you.

Once you confirm it, you can use this email address to receive payments from friends and family. Plus, you can make it your primary address for all your PayPal business.

Confirm My Email Address

Here's another way to confirm your email address:
Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Confirm email address in the Notifications section of your Account Overview.
Enter this confirmation number: 0786-9436-5244-6985-8669

If you didn't add this email, let us know right away. It's important because it helps us make sure no one is getting into your account without your knowledge.

Sincerely,-

The "Log in" link in the e-mail message goes to this malicious website: omg.enelbrasero.com, instead of paypal.com. Please do not click on any of the links in the e-mail message. Remember, never click on a link to sign into your PayPal account. Always go directly to www.paypal.com to sign into your account from there instead.
