Fake Boston Marathon Bombings Charities

Scammers and hackers are already taking advantage of the Boston Marathon bombings. They are registering fake domain names and setting up malicious websites, all in the name of the "Boston Marathon Bombings" charities, which they will use to lure persons, who want to support the victims, into their scamming traps. Look out for bogus Facebook, Twitter and other social networking posts that may ask you to click or go to a particular website in order to help the Boston Marathon bombings victims.

Also, if you receive any e-mail message claiming to have links to news websites or videos about the Boston Marathon bombings, please do not click on these links.

Scammers and hackers are using these e-mails as bait, to trick persons into clicking on them, so they can be taken to a malicious website that will infect their computers with malwares.

Remember, go to a popular news website that you know or familiar with and read the news from there instead.

Help stop the spread of these fake charities by not sharing or re-tweeting their posts on Facebook or twitter.
