FBI Director Fraudulent and Malicious Emails
Are you receiving email messages claiming to be the from FBI director Robert S. Mueller? If your answer is yes, it means that you are being targeted by scammers. Do not respond to, open attachments or follow the instructions in, any email message which claims or appeared to have been sent from the FBI director. These email messages are sent by scammers who are trying to trick you into stealing your personal information and money.
They, the scammers, may also try to infect your computer with malicious computer programs. These computer programs can steal your personal information by spying on you (spyware) or they can allow remote access to your computer (Trojan horse). With remote access, these cybercriminals can use your computer to commit fraud, attack other computers, send spam, or commit other cybercrimes.
