Scammers Impersonating the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Donation Page

Scammers have put up a phishing "The UN Refugee Agency(UNHCR)" donation web page, impersonating the legitimate one at http://donate.unhcr.org/syria/. The scammers aim is to trick persons into making a donation with their credit cards, which seems will go to the people of Syria. But, this fake page was designed to steal your credit card information.

The scammers target potential victims by sending out the bogus email message below:

Clicking on any of the links or the "DONATE NOW" button in this email message will take you to the phishing website.

This phishing website is located the following website address:
http://sosmoney.eu/refugees/ refugees/Donate%20 to%20the%20UN%20Refugee%20 Agency%20in%20the %20United%20States %20-%20USA%20for %20UNHCR.htm

The legitimate "The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) Donation" page is located at the following website address:
https://donate.unrefugees.org/

The bogus website has a fake "Verified by Verisign" logo and the website address does not start with security protocol: "HTTPS://", which is required when processing or submitting sensitive information like your credit card and personal information over the internet.

Do your research before making any forms of donation online with your credit card. You can use Google.com or other popular search engines to search for a list of legitimate charitable websites.
