The email message below: "mint.co.uk - Minimum Payment Due", which appears as if it came from the website mint.co.uk, is a phishing scam designed to steal your mint.co.uk user name and password. The email message was not sent from mint.co.uk, but by cybercriminals.

The “Mint.co.uk - Minimum Payment Due” Phishing Email

Subject: mint.co.uk - Minimum Payment Due
Your credit card minimum payment is due
Your latest credit card bill has been attached above
View attached file to proceed

This fake email message claims that the recipient’s credit card minimum payment is due and he/she should view the attached bill in order to proceed. But, this email attachment is not a credit card bill.

The attachment is actually a webpage, looking like the mint.co.uk website that will ask the recipient to sign into his/her mint.co.uk account.

If the recipient enters his/her user name and password on this fake attached webpage, it will be sent to the cybercriminals behind this phishing scam.

Once these criminals have gotten the victim’s user name and password, they will be able to gain access to that person’s mint.co.uk account.

If you were tricked into sending your mint.co.uk user name and password to these to cybercriminals, please change your password immediately.
