Virus Email - "IDA Ireland Home of Foreign Businesses - Investment Opportunities in Ireland"

The email message below: "IDA Ireland (Home of Foreign Businesses)," was not sent by the IDA Ireland, but by cyber-criminals. The message has a link that will download a malicious file with the name 'investmentareas.rar' (name may change) onto your computer. The malicious file will infect your Windows computer if you open it. The fake and malicious message was created by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients into clicking on the link by impersonating IDA Ireland and claiming that there are investment opportunities in Ireland.

Although the malicious email message appeared to have been sent by IDA Ireland's website at www.idaireland.com, it was not. The email address was spoofed.

If you open the malicious file investmentareas.rar, which contains the file investmentareas.scr, your computer will become infected. Once your computer has become infected with this malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.

Now, if you have already opened clicked on the link, downloaded and open the malicious file, please do a full scan of your computer with the antivirus software installed on it. The name of the attachment may change, so be careful when opening email attachments.
