The email message below: "Important Update, read carefully," has a virus or Trojan horse attached to it that will infect your Windows computer if you open it. The message was designed to trick the recipients into opening the malicious attachment, disguised as a bank update form.

Dear Customer,

Protecting the privacy of your online banking access and personal information are our primary concern. During the last complains because of online fraud we were forced to upgrade our security measures.

We believe that Invention of security measures is the best way to beat online fraud. Barclays Bank have employed some industrial leading models to start performing an extra security check with Your Online Banking Activities to ensure a safe and secure Online and Mobile Banking.

For security reasons we attached the Update Form to this e-mail.

You are requested to follow the provided steps and Update Your Online Banking details, for the safety of Your Accounts.

- Please download and complete the form with the requested details.
- Fill in all required fields with your accurately details (otherwise will lead to service suspension)

Warning: If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choice but to temporary hold on your funds.

The attachment "Form.zip” contains the malicious file “Form.scr". And, the malicious file contains the following threats:

This email message was not sent by Barclays Bank, but by cybercriminals, whose aim is to trick the curious recipients into opening the malicious attachment that will infect their computers with a virus or Trojan horse.

Once your computer has become infected with this malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cybercrimes, or steal your personal and financial information.

Now, if you have already opened anyone of these malicious attachments, please do a full scan of your computer with the antivirus software installed on it. The name of the attachment may change, so be careful when opening email attachments.
