Your Flight Ticket is not Activated Yet - British Airways Virus Email Message
The email message below: "Your flight ticket is not activated yet," is malicious and was not sent by British Airways, but instead by cyber-criminals. The email message contains a malicious attachment that will infect your computer with a virus or Trojan horse if you open it. The email message will attempt to trick the recipients into believing that a British Airways ticket was purchased without their consent and have them curiously open the malicious attachment, thinking they will view a form.

Subject: Your flight ticket is not activated yet.
Attachment: Ticket_confirmation.zip
Dear customer,
Your flight ticket number: #877764-6192359-BA-90050320142 has not been activated yet.
In order to activate the ticket please download the attachment and fill in the form.
In the case you wish to cancel your flight and apply for a refund, please confirm that your
billing info (found in the attachment) is valid.

This malicious email message has an attachment called Ticket_confirmation.zip, which contains the malicious Trojan horse file Ticket_confirmation.exe. Attempts to open this file will infect your computer with a Trojan horse or virus.
When we scanned the file Ticket_confirmation.zip, the following threats were detected:
- Trojan.Malware.Obscu.Gen.002
- Packed.Win32.Katusha.3!O
- Malware.Packer.LOL
- Malware.QVM20.Gen
Once your computer has become infected with this malicious Trojan horse, the cybercriminals behind this email message will be able to access and take control of your computer remotely from anywhere around the world. They may spy on you, use your computer to commit cyber-crimes, or steal your personal and financial information.
Now, if you have already opened this malicious attachment Ticket_confirmation.exe, please do a full scan of your computer with the antivirus software installed on it. The name of the attachment may change, so be careful when opening email attachments.
