Hackers Posted Fake Message on YahooNews - 'Breaking Ebola Outbreak in Atlanta!'

On Sunday, August 10, 2014, the following tweet was posted on YahooNews's twitter news feed: "BREAKING EBOLA OUTBREAK IN ATLANTA! Estimated 145 people infected so far since Doctors carrying the disease were flown in from African." It appears YahooNews Twitter account has been hacked and the hackers tweeted or posted the fake message on their news feed.

The tweet or message was taken down approximately 30 minutes after it was tweeted or posted, and YahooNews posted the following message:

"@YahooNews: Earlier, an unauthorized tweet with misinformation on Ebola was sent from this account; please disregard that tweet."

It has been confirmed that the message is a fake because there is no Ebola outbreak in Atlanta.
