Phishing Scam - HSBC Bank - Account Monitoring Process
HSBC Bank customers, beware of the phishing email message below that was designed to steal your HSBC Bank's user ID, password, security number, sort code, account number, telephone banking code,credit card and your personal information. If you receive any email message appearing as if it came from HSBC Bank, asking you to click on a link, send the email message to HSBC Bank to have them verify the authenticity of the email message or go directly to their website at www.hsbc.com and sign into your account from there.

To protect your accounts, our monitoring process has temporarily suspended your online access, whereby fraudsters attempt to obtain customer’s personal banking and other confidential information.
To help us verify the activity on your account, we'll complete our checks on your Online Banking accounts.
For better services and protection of our customer , you are required to click of the protection button, this should be done as soon as you get this message.

Although the email message appears as if it came from HSBC Bank, it was not. There is a technique called email spoofing that these cyber-criminals use to make an email message appear as if came from somone, although the email was not actually sent by that person.
Now, if you click on the 'Protection' link or button in the email message, you will be taken to the fake HSBC Bank web page located at http://www.creamteam .ca/music/IBlogin.html. Remember, although the page looks exactly like the HSBC Bank website, it is not.
You will then be asked to enter your HSBC Bank userID and password. Once you have done that, you will then be asked to enter your user ID, password, security number, sort code, account number, telephone banking code,credit card and your personal information.
Now, if you enter the requested information, it will be stolen by the hackers who have set up the fake page and will use the same information to hijack your HSBC Bank online account.
If you have already or think you have entered the requested information on the bogus web page, please change both your HSBC Bank password and contact them right now!
