Phishing JNBS Live Email - "An Update to Your Account is Required"
The email message below with the subject: "An Update to Your Account is Required," which appears as if it came from Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) is a phishing scam. The email message was sent by cyber-criminals to trick the recipients (JNBS customers), into clicking on the link within it, by claiming an update is required for their online banking accounts. But, clicking the link will only take the scammers’ potential victims to a fake JNBS Live website located at "acwbc.org," where they will be asked to sign in with their accounts’ username and password.
Once the victims have entered their account credentials on the phishing website, it will be sent to the scammers behind the phishing scam. The scammers will then use their victims’ credentials to gain access to their accounts and use the accounts fraudulently.

JNBS customers who have received the email message above are asked to delete it and not to follow the instructions in it. And, for those who have been tricked by the phishing email message into visiting the phishing website, and have attempted to sign into it, should change their passwords and contact JNBS immediately.
The legitimate JNBS Live website is located: www.jnbslive.com. JNBS contact information is located on their website.
To help protect against phishing scams, internet users should never click on a link in an email message to sign into their online accounts. They should instead, go directly to their online accounts providers’ websites by searching for them in a popular search engine or typing the websites’ name or address directly in their web browsers. This will ensure that internet users are not taken to fraudulent websites disguised as legitimate ones.
