Phishing Email Scam - "Virgin Media Urgent Billing Update"

The email message below: "Virgin Media Urgent Billing Update," is a phishing scam, and recipients of the email message are advised not respond to it with their personal information or follow the instructions in it. The email message was not sent by Virgin Media, but my scammers, who send out hundreds of these email messages every month to trick their victims into stealing their usernames, passwords and personal information.

Remember, never click on a link in an email message to sign or log into your online accounts.instead, go directly to the website, by typing the website address in your web browser address bar or use popular search engines to find the website.

This will prevent you from going to a fake or phishing website, which will steal your username and password once you attempt to sign-in or login.

Subject: Virgin Media Urgent Billing Update

Welcome Virgin Media Account:

You’re now all set up to receive your bills online.

The classic billing version of your Virgin Media will be replaced by our new version.

So it’s time to upgrade, before you lose your email access.

When your next bill is ready for you to see, we’ll send you an e-mail to let you know.

Then simply log into Your Account and Update your billing details!

Sign into My Virgin Media.

New and improved payment system through PayPal.

When you upgrade your Virgin Media your email service won’t be affected and you’ll keep all your old contacts, folders and messages.
