The links in the email message will take you to a fake and phishing ANZ website, which will ask you to sign into your ANZ account and enter your personal and financial information. Now, if you enter your ANZ account details, financial details, or login details on the same website, it will be sent to the cyber-criminals behind the phishing scam, who will use it to hijack your ANZ account and use it for malicious purposes.

If you were tricked into clicking the link in the fake email message and have entered your phone number, and username and password for your The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) account on the fake website that you were taken to, please change your ANZ password and contact them immediately.

Every month, thousands of these email messages are sent out by scammers to trick their ANZ potential victims into stealing their username, password, financial or personal information. So, if you receive email messages like the one above, please do not click on the links within them, instead, go to www.anz.com and sign into your account from there.

If there is a problem with your account, ANZ will notify you about the problem after you have signed in and ANZ will never send you an email asking you to verify or provide your account details, financial details, or login details.
