Scammers Posing as Gully Bop's Booking Agent are Stealing Promoters' Money
Promoters who are interesting in booking popular Jamaican Dancehall sensation, Gully Bop, should be on the lookout for scammers, who are creating fake Gully Bop Facebook pages and posing as a booking agent for the artiste. A Canadian promoter was allegedly tricked by scammers posing as Gully Bop's booking agent or Shauna Chin (Gully Bop's fiancée and manager), into sending US$3,000 via Western Union as down payment for shows.
Shauna Chin said that the same promoter, who was scammed, contacted her via Gully Bop's Facebook page, claiming that he had sent payment, but said she tried explaining to the promoter that she doesn't take bookings, and bookings are done via Heavy D, who has been Gully Bop's official booking agent since December 2014.
She was subsequently called in by Jamaica's Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), where she was questioned and released without being charged or arrested, after the Canadian promoter reported the incident to them.
Both Shauna Chin and Heavy D have denied receiving any booking request or money from the promoter, and said the days the promoter claimed he has booked, were already booked over 2 months ago.

Gully Bop, otherwise known as Country Man, and whose real name is Robert Lee Malcolm, stumbled up on fame when a little boy recorded him singing the song "Dem Nuh Bad Like Me" on a mobile phone and posted the video on popular social networking website Facebook, where it went viral.
