If a pop-up dialog box appears on your computer screen displaying the message below: "ATTENTION! Your PC is blocked due at least one of the reasons specified below...," it means that your computer has been infected with the FBI Cybercrime Division and MoneyPak ransomware or virus. The ransomware or virus, which was created by cyber-criminals and NOT by the FBI, will lock you out of your computer, claiming that you have violated copyright and related rights laws, and claim that you need to pay a fine via MoneyPak in order to unlock your screen.
If your computer has been infected with the ransomware, please do not pay the money or follow the instructions that are displayed on your computer screen. Paying the money will not guarantee that the ransomware will unlock your computer; it may continuously ask you to make more payments or allow cyber-criminals remote access to your computer from anywhere around the world.
With remote access, the cyber-criminals will spy on you, steal your personal and financial information, and may even use your computer to commit cyber-crimes, which will be traced back to you.

Fines may only be paid within 72 hours after the infringement. As soon as 72 hours elapse, the possibility to pay the fine expires, and a criminal case is initiated against you automatically within the next 72 hours! To unblock the computer you must pay the fine through MoneyPak of $300. When you pay the fine, your PC will get unlocked in 1 to 72 hours after the money is put into the State’s account.
Since your PC is unlocked, you will be given 7 days to correct all violations.
In case all violations are not corrected after 7 working days, your PC will be blocked again, and a criminal case will be initiated against you automatically under one or more articles specified above.
