Facebook Comments that Contain Malicious Links

Whether you are on Facebook or other websites that use embedded Facebook comments, you should look out for malicious links that have been posted by scammers or cyber-criminals, who have created fake Facebook accounts. The malicious links entice users to click on them by claiming that they can watch for free, newly released HD movies, like Ted 2, Ant-Man, Terminator Genisys, Jurassic World and Minions 2015.

A Malicious Facebook Comment Promoting Free Movies

Remember, never click on a link in a comment that claims you can watch movies for free or offer you things that are too true to believe. This is how scammers lure their victims to phishing and malicious websites that will steal their personal information, financial information, and infect their computers with a malware called a Trojan horse.

A Trojan horse malware is used by cyber-criminals, to spy on their victims from anywhere around the world, to steal their victims personal and financial information, and to use their victims’ computers to commit cyber-crimes that will be traced back to the victims.

Also, the malicious links may take you to fake websites that display alerts or warning messages that your computer or device is infected with malware and that you need to call a toll-free number to have someone fix it. Never follow the instructions on those websites. A website cannot tell if your computer or device is infected with a virus or some other malware. Only the antivirus software installed on your computer can determine that.
