Cayman Islands Overseas Employment Opportunities for Caribbean Hotel Workers Scam

The advertisement below titled: "Jobs Overseas Employment Opportunities for Caribbean Hotel Workers to Work in Cayman Island," which claims a newly acquired luxury hotel in Grand Cayman is seeking to employ persons from the Caribbean under a 5-year contract, is a scam. Therefore, job seekers are asked not to respond to the advertisement being circulated on social media and the rest of the Internet, and to be vigilant about advertised employment opportunities.

The Cayman Islands Overseas Employment Opportunities Scam

The Cayman New Source has published the following about the scam:

"A joint investigation between the Caymanian and Jamaican police into a financial scam, which cons job applicants out of false work permit fees of CI$400, is currently underway and the RCIPS Financial Crime Unit is warning people here to be on alert for the con. Several hundred people in Jamaica have applied to fraudulent job ads for positions at a hotel here that does not exist. The victims have handed over cash for permits, which the scammers are trying to route through the accounts of scam victims in Cayman." Click here to continue reading.
