"Mobile Awards Anniversary" Lottery Scam
The email message below, which claims the recipients are winners of the "Mobile Awards Anniversary," is a lottery scam, or a fake. There is NO "Mobile Awards Anniversary" lottery or promotion that has partnered with Nokia Mobile, LG Mobile, IPhone, Samsung Mobile, Sony Mobile, Blackberry, HTC Mobile that is awarding winners with thousands or millions of dollars. So, recipients of fake email message claiming they are winners should delete it. It is important to know that the fake email message was sent by scammers and NOT by the name of the legitimate companies listed above. Every month, thousands of these email messages are sent out by scammers to trick their potential victims into stealing their personal information, financial information and money.
Remember, never send your personal information to anyone in an email message or send money to someone who contacted you via email message. And, Microsoft, Google, Nokia, Microsoft, Yahoo, LG, HTC, Blackberry, Hotmail, Samsung, AOL and other legitimate companies will never ask their users to send their personal information, credit card information, or financial information via email messages, or send money via Prepaid Debit Cards, Western Union, MoneyGram, or other money transfer services.
Although the fake email message appear as if they were sent by the legitimate companies above, they were not. The cyber-criminals behind the fake email messages use a technique called "Email Spoofing," which is used to make an email message appear as if it came from email address, but was actually sent from another email address.
