The fake Facebook post below, disguised as a CNN, ABC News or BBC News update, claiming the 18-year-old American actor committed suicide after his girlfriend cheated on him with a photographer, is another reason why online users should always go to popular and reputable news websites instead of depending on social media posts. Also, Facebook users who click on the fake news post will be asked to allow a fake and malicious Facebook app, disguised as legitimate news app, to access to their accounts.

Whenever something dramatic or depressing like the death of someone is posted on social networking or unpopular websites, online users should verify it with a reputable news website before posting, sharing, commenting or liking the same post.

Users who click the fake post above will be greeted with the following popup message from the malicious Facebook App requesting permission to post on their behalf:
"Top Feeds, Worlds Trending News, or Out of Space would like to post to Facebook for you. Who do you want to share these posts with?"

If users click the "Okay" button to allow the malicious Facebook app to access to their accounts, it will post the fake-news of Jaden Smith death to their Facebook Timeline or Wall, which will spread it to their Facebook friends. Therefore, Facebook users who see the fake Jaden Smith death post on their Timeline or Wall, should delete or report it as spam to help stop it from spreading to other users. Facebook users who were tricked by the fake message into allowing the malicious Facebook app to access their Facebook accounts should click here for instructions on how to remove it.
