The "Settlement Statement Review" is a Google Docs or Drive Phishing Scam
The email message below with the subject: "Settlement Statement Review," is a Google Docs or Drive phishing scam. The fake email message was created by cyber-criminals to steal their potential victims' online account user name and password. Recipients of the email messages or posts appearing as if they came from a friend or family member, asking them to view a document that was uploaded to Google Docs or Google Drive, are asked to delete the messages or posts. This is simply because this is another malicious attempt by cyber-criminals and scammers to steal the recipients' Google, Hotmail, Outlook, MSN, Yahoo and AOL account information, so that they can hijack their accounts and use them fraudulently.

The links in the fake email message go to a phishing website, and will ask the visitors to sign-in with their Google or other email accounts credentials. Now, once the vistors attemp to sign-in, their usernames and passwords will be sent to the cyber-criminals behind the scam, who will use the stolen information to hijack their Google accounts.
The recipients of the email or message who have already attempted to sign into the bogus website, are asked change their Google password immediately! There are different versions of the Google Docs or Drive phishing scam, so please be on the look out for e-mail messages or posts asking to view documents inGoogle Docs or Google Drive.
Also, it is recommended that Google users enable 2-Step Verification or Authenication on their acounts. This will protect their Google accounts from unauthorized access, even if their usernames and passwords have been stolen by cybercriminals. Click here to learn more.
