"Wells Fargo Account Suspension" Phishing Scam

The email message below, which claims that the recipients’ Well Fargo online accounts have been suspended is another phishing scam created by cybercriminals. The phishing scam tricks and frightens the recipients into clicking on the link in the fake email message, which goes to fake Wells Fargo website. The fake website will ask visitors to sign in with their Wells Fargo’s credentials (usernames and passwords), but any attempts to sign-in, will send their credentials to the cybercriminals responsible for the scam.

Once the cybercriminals have gotten their potential victims’ Wells Fargo’s online credentials, they will gain access to their accounts, steal their money and use their accounts fraudulently. Therefore, Wells Fargo customers are advised to never click on a link in an email or social media post to sign into their accounts. They should instead, go directly to https://www.wellsfargo.com/ and sign into their accounts. And, if there is anything that needs to be done to their accounts, they will be notified after signing in. This will prevent Wells Fargo's customers from clicking on links in a phishing email or social media messages that go to fake or phishing websites that steal online account credentials and personal information.
