Scammers Stealing Information via Resumes Using Fake Job Offers
Scammers are using fake job opening positions or job offers to collect personal and other sensitive information from potential victims. The scammers do this by sending out fake job opening or job offer email messages like the one below to potential victims, which ask them to respond with their resumes. Once the scammers have received their potential victims’ resumes, which contain a lot of sensitive information, they will sell the information to rogue online marketing companies or other scammers, or they will use the information themselves to contact and attempt to scam their potential victims.

Scammers know how desperately people are looking for jobs, especially with large and reputable organizations that pay very well. Therefore, they use those organizations’ name in their fake job offering email messages to convince potential victims into believing in their scams.
This scam is another reason why online users should never respond to unsolicited email messages which request personal or financial information. And, should contact the organizations the email messages appear to have been sent from, via their website, telephone number or legitimate email address, to confirm the authenticity of the email messages that they have received requesting information, before responding.
