"Account Team Email Maintenance Ongoing Upgrade" Phishing Scams

Online users who have received email messages claiming that due to ongoing email maintenance upgrade they need to confirm their date of birth, phone, and other information in order not to lose their accounts permanently. The email messages are fakes that being sent by cyber criminals to trick online users into sending them their information. Legitimate email providers will never ask their users to send them their personal information for any form of confirmation.

Due to our ongoing upgrade, confirm your date of birth and phone to avoid losing your account permanently.

Once cybercriminals have received their potential victims' information, they will use the same information to contact their potential victims and attempt to scam them or sell their information to other scammers. Online users who have already sent their information are asked to be careful next time because the scammers will contact them.
