Range Rover Velar Facebook Giveaway Scams Created by Cyber criminals

The Facebook post below, which claims that Land Rover is giving away Range Rover Velar to promote their new model, is another Facebook phishing scam. The phishing scam, which is just one of the many created by cybercriminals, is an attempt to trick Facebook users into liking a Facebook post, by claiming that they have a chance to win the luxury SUV that is being given away. But, the scam is used to gather up the scammers' potential victims, by getting them to like, share or comment on the fake post or page. Once the scammers have gathered up their potential victims, they will start sending them fake friend requests. Once the potential victims have accepted the fake requests, the scammers will start sending them malicious posts with links that download malware that infect their computers with viruses, spyware, ransomware, or links that will take them to fake or phishing websites that will steal their online account credentials and personal information.
