"The Google+ Support We Just Sent a Message that Must be Read" Phishing Scam

Google users, beware of Google+ phishing email messages like the one below that are being used by cyber criminals to steal their accounts' usernames and passwords by tricking them into visiting fake/phishing websites, infect their computers with a virus, ransomware or trick you into visiting spam websites. Recipients of similar email messages are asked not to click on the links within them. They should instead, go directly to plus.google.com and sign into their accounts. Once they are signed in, they will be able to view messages and important notifications, if there are any.

Google users who have already been tricked by the phishing scam, that is, those who have visited the fake/phishing website and attempted to to sign-in, are asked to change their Google account password immediately before their accounts are hijacked and used fraudulently or maliciously.
