Look Out for the "Corporate Email Upgrade Alerts" Phishing Scam
If you have received the email below, which claims that the system has detected a password error on your enterprise mailbox, please delete it because it is a phishing scam. The fake email is being sent by cybercriminals to trick and fright potential victims into responding with their personal and account information. Therefore, recipients of the fake email are asked to delete it. And, for those who have already been tricked by it, are asked to change their password immediately, before the cybercriminals responsible for the scam gain access to their accounts, hijack and use them fraudulently.
And, remember, a legitimate company will never ask you to send your personal and account information in an email message. So, once you are asked to do so, it is online scammers or cybercriminals who are attempting to trick you into giving them your information, which they will use to gain illegal access to your online accounts.
