"PayPal Overstock Items Shipped Cancellation" Scam
PayPal users, please be on the lookout for fake emails like the one below, which claim your order or items have been shipped and your PayPal account has been charged. The fake emails are phishing scams being sent by cybercriminals who are attempting to trick PayPal users into clicking on the links in the fake emails. The links or buttons in the fake email go to a phishing website looking similar to PayPal's website, where visitors will be asked to sign into with their PayPal account. But, but any attempts to sign into the fake PayPal website will send the visitors' PayPal credentials to the cybercriminals behind the phishing scam, who will hijack the accounts and use them fraudulently.
