The "Volkswagen Giving 50 Cars for Free" Giveaway Scam

Volkswagen is not giving away free cars to celebrate their success. Therefore, online users who have received messages like the one below, which claim they can participate to win one of the free cars, are asked to delete them. This is because the messages are being sent by scammers with links to fake survey websites that steal personal information or phishing websites that steal online account credentials and credit card information.

But, the legitimate Volkswagen website is at:

The different between the two is, the fake link has the Latin letter: "ạ", instead of the English letter "a".

The link may also go to spam websites that trick online users into buying counterfeit products or charge them for products or services the scammers operating the same websites claim are free.
