The "National Remittance Bank USA Unclaimed Fund Notification" Scam
Online users who have received email or SMS text messages like the one below, which claim they have abandoned their refund are asked not to follow the instructions in the messages. This is because the fake messages are being sent by online scammers to trick potential victims into sending them their personal information and subsequently asking them to send money in order to receive their so-called funds. If the money is sent, the scammers will take it and disappear and the victims will not get the funds or money they were promised.
