"Verizon Request to Terminate Your Account" Phishing Scam

Cybercriminals are sending out fake "Verizon Request to Terminate Your Account" emails to potential victims, in an attempt to trick them into clicking on malicious links in the same emails. The malicious links go to phishing websites that steal visitors' email or online account credentials, by tricking them into signing in.

Hi

Did you really request us to terminate your @Verizon.com! account?

please if you did not, reply to this message To cancel the termination request.

If not, All files on your mail including (Inbox, Sent, Spam, Trash, Draft) will be deleted and access to your Email address will be Denied.

Verizon users should always go directly to www.verizon.net and sign into their accounts to view important updates or notifications. And, those who have already been tricked by the phishing email are asked to change their passwords and contact Verizon before their accounts are hijacked and used fraudulently.
