Google Cloud Service is Down - Issue with Compute Engine

Today, I noticed that Google Analytics was showing my website visitor's count as zero. I got scared because I though my website was down. So, I went straight to my website, only to find out that it is up. I checked my Adsense account and noticed that my advertisement Page Views were not updating although the advertisements were being displayed on my website.

I quickly did some research and found out Google is experienceing issue with its Compute Engine that is affecting applications and services that depend on it.

Google released the following statement:

"We continue to experience high levels of network congestion in the eastern USA, affecting multiple services in Google Cloud, G Suite and YouTube. Users may see slow performance or intermittent errors. Our engineering teams have completed the first phase of their mitigation work and are currently implementing the second phase, after which we expect to return to normal service. We will provide an update at 16:00 US/Pacific."

Google Compute Engine (GCE) is the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) component of Google Cloud Platform which is built on the global infrastructure that runs Google's search engine, Gmail, YouTube and other services. Google Compute Engine enables users to launch virtual machines (VMs) on demand.
